"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

March 23rd, 2011

I spent my weekend with a great friend; you know, the kind you don’t necessarily see often, but whenever you do, it’s like nothing has changed and you can chat about anything and everything, and it’s just fun, and comfortable, and even inspiring, and you don’t care about the time? Yes, that kind. I consider myself lucky to have a few such friends!

At one point in the course of an evening, he asked the question: “What is your passion?”

Without hesitation, my answer was “Creating things.” And it’s true – though I’ve chosen a few mediums to focus on, it doesn’t matter so much what exactly it is that I’m creating, as long as it fits with my personal values, as long as I’m doing something new (to me), and as long as there is the element of challenge in bringing a vision to fruition.

I’d like to add a secondary layer to this, and that is: Sharing Information. Finding/developing skills and knowledge, being able to pass them on and see where others go with them is so very rewarding and was one of the things I most enjoyed about my university experience – being surrounded by people who were equally dedicated and passionate, learning together and seeing everyone take the things we had learned in completely different directions.

These two things are the reason for my blog, and I will endeavour to stay true to them as it grows. I just attended a seminar on Fall/Winter trends for 2012 and can’t wait to start building content for you to see!

I'm the type that enjoys the fabulous creations, that's why we are a perfect pair :D! Somehow I hardly pictured Mr. Landrock and you sitting down and having a peaceful and meaningful conversation, heheh..

Hi Betty, Oh but we do have such conversations! C, E and I used to sit in Just Desserts and philosophize the night away. Fun times – and I look forward to enjoying some with you this weekend! 🙂

  3. I really like the two elements that you have chosen as your guiding light for your blog. I have not been blogging for long either and I think we both started around the same time. I too feel that there needs to be something that "fuels my passion" in order for me to want to blog and I'm glad that I have identified that element for myself too. It makes it a lot easier then to be able to spend hours and hours on something that we love!

  4. Thx for connecting with me on foodbuzz. I have subscribed to your blog and can’t wait to see what’s next.
